Local Organization Helps Students End Summer With Special Event

(WBNG)– To wrap up their last family engagement event of the summer, 4H Unity is hosting a fun, free event for the whole family called “4H STEAMs Ahead.”

Asia Ambler, 4H Unity Project Coordinator, said the event will focus on showing families the importance of learning steaming skills to prepare students for the school year and future career success. . The organization says it wants to help kids learn how much fun steaming can be.

“It could be anything, it could work with a radio station, it could work in the media, it could work as a mathematician or work as an accountant in a company, so we really want to expose as much as our young people to STEAM and our team leaders wanted to do it to prepare the kids for college and to prepare the kids after high school and explore different careers,” Asia Ambler said.

She said that most people believe that steam careers are primarily science and math, which is not true.

Ambler said many organizations and businesses will be at “4H STEAMs Ahead” bringing lots of fun and interactive STEAM activities to their table.

This event will take place on Thursday August 4th. From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at West Endicott Park.
