Xbox games of December 2020 gave gamerscore a final boost
Ho ho ho, this is Santa Claus! What do you mean, Santa Claus has already been? Did he give you a dose of easy accomplishments? No? Well I, the Second Coming of Santa Claus, am here to boost your Gamerscore one last time this year with some of the easiest achievements to get from Xbox One and Xbox Series X games | S released in December 2020.
Ruinverse – 10G – Plant Lover
Let’s start this month off with a feat that requires almost no effort, which makes it perfect to unlock after a tummy full of leftover Christmas goodies.
Ruinverse is yet another JRPG offering from KEMCO, which all play very similarly – but if you’re a JRPG fan, that’s not a bad thing. Sadly, Ruinverse isn’t one of KEMCO’s best efforts, but if you’re reading this, you’re probably not here for great games per se.
One thing that is a lot about JRPGs are cutscenes, and Ruinverse on Xbox is certainly no different. In fact, this achievement for Plant Lover is for watching the opening cutscene. Once it is done, it will appear a small 10G. Don’t worry though, the bigger ones are on their way.
Haven – 10G – Healing Hug
Greater achievements are to come, but this one had to be included. In an age where we weren’t allowed to have physical contact with our loved ones, a virtual hug is about as good as it gets.
Haven is an action RPG where you play as two lovers – controlled as one though – and it’s as much a romantic tale as it is a video game. It’s definitely an adult romance because these two can’t hold hands. However, if a couple found themselves in a weird world free of humans, I think many would act the same.
This realization is for some body to body contact, but nothing explicit. Instead, a simple hug will net you 10G. To make this happen, make sure that one of your couple is not fully healthy and remains inactive. After a short wait, the couple will kiss each other, take care of themselves, but above all will offer you 10G.
Roundout by POWGI – 40G – Oh grow up!
This next achievement is for the childish people out there!
Roundout by POWGI is a crossword puzzle game where each of the crosswords can be completed with only eight letters. It offers a full 1000G that can be completed in just over an hour. Here however, we are focusing on one of the sillier accomplishments.
In the main menu, scroll to page 3 and choose the second puzzle from the second row. Unfortunately, there are no numbers on the puzzles, so this is the best way to describe it. You will know you have the right puzzle if you can create the word “Snipe” from the letters given.
However, this is not the word we are looking for! What word is an anagram of “snipe”?
That’s right, “penis”! Enter the word in the crossword, and although it will not appear in the crossword itself, you will receive 40G for entering a word for male genitals.
When the past was around – 50G – Memory
There seems to be a bit of a resurgence in point-and-click games, as indicated by the fact we even have an end of year list covering some of our favorites. Unsurprisingly, When the Past was Around is on this list, but also on our list for providing ridiculously easy Gamerscore.
Our favorites list includes funny, spellbinding and emotional. When the past was around is definitely on the emotional side of things, dealing with love, loss and moving on. To make up for that, here are some easy accomplishments.
In the first room you start the game in, head over to the drawer to open it. Inside there is a photograph. Click on it to watch it, then look at your Gamerscore total; it will be 50G better.
Monster Train – 2 for 25G – Is it a challenge? and you are dead!
This next double achievement could go in two ways; our described method requires much less effort but offers less 5G. Taking the other option requires you to kill a boss; way too long for our list but assigns more than 5G.
Monster Train for Xbox is a collectible card game in the same spirit as the excellent Slay the Spire. In Monster train however, hell has literally frozen over and you are on a train trying to deliver the pyre. It will rekindle the flames of hell. Obviously, there are those above who would prefer this not to happen.
For Achievements though, just issue a Daily Challenge for Is It a Challenge? realization for the first 15G. So die! This unlocks another 10G for You Died!
Morkredd – 35G – Fear of the dark
No, not the children’s TV horror show – Lesser Man’s Goosebumps too – but Afraid of the Dark is the name of our penultimate achievement this month. And it can be unlocked in no less than two seconds after starting the game!
Morkredd is a cooperative puzzle platform game where your main task is to avoid the dark. Alongside your companion, a shining ball of light is your best friend as you propel it through this world and ultimately discover your destiny. For Journey fans, Inside or Brothers: a tale of two sons, Morkredd should be worth your attention.
However, do you remember me saying that your main job is to avoid darkness? For this realization, ignore this. Just step into the shadows all around you and laugh all the way to the Gamerscore bank with another 35G.
Brawl Chess – 50G – First Blood
Our latest achievement this month is the one we love. By that I mean it’s an accomplishment to literally achieve the main goal of the title. It’s the equivalent of earning 50G for scoring a goal in FIFA or riding a horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 – you’re going to do it hundreds of times, and yet you’ll be rewarded with Gamerscore for doing it once.
The game in question is Brawl chess. Chess games cost ten cents on every device that can play, but Brawl Chess tries to make it more accessible to younger kids with cute animations. Unfortunately, our reviewer noted that there was really nothing else to differentiate it from the myriad of others.
Except maybe an easy Gamerscore? In Brawl Chess, you will capture hundreds of coins. These are failures after all. This particular 50G achievement is for capturing your first piece. It is a success if there has ever been one.
And that’s our list for December. Admittedly a little smaller in terms of actual Gamerscore compared to other months, but the silly season for game releases is almost over, more who wanted to release a game in the same month as Cyberpunk 2077? A game that takes about an hour to unlock an achievement, I want to point this out!
Happy New Year to all successful hunters. Stay tuned in 2021 for many easier achievements. Let us know in the comments if you have any easier!
